Very Underrated anime, good for chilling Overall a fun & chill anime, similar type of anime like Frieren, except the elf is useless *not really It have multiple underlying dark plot behind it waiting to be reveal and the food are just a distraction You always asking yourself after each arc what going to happen next.. very engaging anime World building in this anime are amazing, not too complex to understand and fit into the plot There are some battles in this anime and its similar to Frieren Each party member have well crafted back stories and unique skills to help the group move thru each difficulties Each one of them havetheir own weirdness and quirks that make it fun to watch them interacting with each other This anime give me nostalgia, travelling to foreign country to see local eating spiders, yuck! However after you taste it it changes your soul. Slowly you transformed into accepting eating weird food. Just like Marcille! Yes you might get turn off by it in the beggining but the story just keeps going and becoming better
It is great isekai anime but let me first address massive review-bombing first. We can divide them into two groups, occasionally overlapping. 1) Unholy Templars of True Copy. Unless something is 1:1 image of the source, it needs to be exorcised! Annihilated. Review-bombed! This anime shows perhaps 1/3 of the source material. Would it be better if a better studio could afford 25 episodes instead of 12? Probably. But with you youngsters having like 10 seconds attention span, I can understand their reluctance to risk. 2) Beautiful Empty Shells. They keep boks because they have pretty cover and letters. They review their food based on rarity of the plate.Creatures so hollow and dumb that they hate substance and appreciate form only. Your actions and perosnality is irrelevant. Your cloths are what decide your value in their eyes. They know exactly zero about visual arts but will persecute anyone who argues that books and movies are primarily art of storytelling. They are basically Glums, "Ooooohh its shiny!!!", Yeah, low budget shows as there is less animation than usual. But for hundreds of thousands of years storytellers captivated their audience only with their voice only, sitting by the fire. So why do I think that the anime is great? Well storytelling, duh, silly. Your usual isekai is japanese bum getting op for no reason. Here though, protagonists dies at the abolute power top. Is reborn and tries to get powerfull again but this journey is about his values and beliefs just as much. Learning to be a human and not just a ruthless sociopath. Characters! They are mostly multi-dimensional. So rare. Even side characters, like the elven king. He hates humans. Adores his daughter. Fears his own father. And struggles with his feelings towards the protagonist. Are all humans really trash? (Sir, be assured. Most humans really are trash) It is already four times as many characteristics as 95% of other isekai would use. I love it! Still, I would also love to see it done with twice as many episodes though.
Short and cute :) > Is the story unique? If it was predictable, did you enjoy it anyway because you like this genre/set-up? Not unique but also not boring and nothing problematic > Do you think the art style is fitting for the story? Yes > Were the characters well-rounded? Did they have flaws and strengths, or were they unusually strong/smart/stupid? Surprisingly, the characters were not 1-dimensional. Story is 6 episodes of ~5 mins so 30 mins in total, not a lot of room for lots of character development, but still present.> Did the characters react to situations and events in a realistic way? Yes > Do you think others will enjoy/dislike this series, even if you didn't? Why? Story is much more enjoyable than other similar ONA
An Epic Tale Of Fan Fiction Zenshu Is about a director with an artist block, who get send to her favorite anime and then FanFiction happens. The story feels like an animated jerk off Session, but in the best possible way, it's like we can see what drives them and what makes them go forward, and what inspired them to do it in the first place. And the main girls autistic way of being is precious.I love that gremlin. the characters are fun and remind me really of the old school characters from the 90s with those charms, but the modernist keeps getting in because ofthe main character's mere existing in this world. it's really fun. anime design is peak, without actually being 90s design it has that charming look anyways, And the main characters design is great, that hairy head with a beautiful face on, it has the ring Vibes and looks unique. characters thick outlines in the flashback looks good. Fun fights, great animation, good themes behind the scenes. It's just a nice anime and would recommend very much.
No Game No Life and how a story can be ruined! No Game No Life is a light novel written by Yuu Kamiya, with 12 volumes, it follows the story of Shiro and Sora, two brothers who really like games and then they both end up in the game they played and solve everything based on the games. First, what did I think of the story, you ask me? I think the premise of it was really interesting, but it was ruined by the ecchi, unfortunately, besides the characters, I don't have much attachment to them, the protagonist is very uncharismatic, what a bad character,my God. The female characters are so annoying (except for Jibril, she's cool), but otherwise, Stephanie is unbearable. Shiro is a fucking bitch, I hate her (I even thought she was cute, but my God, she's unbearable). The anime has several appeals to incest and sexualization of minors. The board games featured in the anime are crap, and the ending is also really bad, omg. I'm glad it didn't get a second season. But the movie is incredible; I cried so much at the end. Overall, No Game No Life is a work that had everything to be one of the best, but with everything that was pointed out previously, I feel like it could be infinitely better. And the initial premise was incredible, but with all these things and some personal factors of mine, it was an anime that was really ruined by excessive ecchi that wasn't necessary. It can have, you can look at To Love-Ru, for example, the work has much more fanservice than No Game No Life, but the premise of To Love-Ru remained firm until the end of the work. No Game No Life ended up becoming complete crap because the beginning was really cool, but it's just that excess of wrong things ruined the series for me. THE MOVIE IS PERFECT BECAUSE IT TAKES AWAY ALL THESE PROBLEMS, and focuses much more on the main couple. Speaking about the soundtrack now, overall it's okay (the opening song This Game is one of my favorite anime openings Konomi Suzuki did a great job creating this incredible song.) and that's actually a positive point in this anime, but it overshadows the negative points I pointed out. The animation in this anime is great, even for an ecchi, Madhouse knows what they're doing. But overall, that's it. That's why No Game No Life was a work that overall doesn't deserve the hype it has, because of these things that happened in the work.
Gonna keep it short and spoilers free. Story itself is predictable and cliched, but thats not the issue. It could have been a nice story of tragic love, of lovers, separated and wounded by flames of war and trying to accept their loss and deal with it, and thats the impression story gives at start, at least in show. But the further it goes, the more obvious it becomes that author is INTENTIONALLY trying to squeeze tears by overstretching it and adding hardly meaningful episodes rather than keep story compact but interesting. This movie is not exception, story of boy in hospital was NOT needed, show alreadybuild enough backstory and should have just moved on straight to the ending. Violet's past also stays mystery, while it holds big potential. Another big problem of this movie is male hero. His actions unrealistic, absurd and idiotic, author DIDNT EVEN TRY TO PLAY AMNESIA CARD, which, while being cliched, would have made LOT OF SENSE. And finally, ending itself. We are never told that Violet is infertile, so what happened to her legacy, her kids? Did she bear any? Story revolves around families but fails to provide disclosure to pretty vital part. ------------ Conclusion: A decent tragic love story which starts fine but gets ruined by intentional tears squeezing, unrealistic and absurd male hero and horribly presented ending which failed to answer bunch of important questions.
Lord of Mysteries is a stunning watch with incredible potential for storytelling. It is a steampunk eldritch fantasy in a world that is entrenched with magic, divination, top-hat wearing gentleman wielding guns and tarot cards, gothic madams who can appear out of nowhere erase you without a trace, and secret organizations of every flavour. And did I mention eldritch horror? Interlaced between all that is an abundance of wholesome moments as well. It's got great characters, a thought provoking power-system, and a setting full of mysteries just like the title suggests. And the reveals end up making for a true delight. So here is theabsolute barebones summary of the beginning to get you started: our main character does a "luck enhancement ritual" at the beginning of the series after a series of really bad luck. However, instead of improving his luck, his soul gets sent to another world and he assimilates with the person whose body he enters. Basically an isekai where he doesn't outright replace the person, but somewhat truly merges with him and gains his memories and knowledge. Now he's trying to survive and go back to earth, avoiding detection and learning about the world he is inhabiting. The first 3 episodes have really fast pacing and may be quite confusing, but it does do enough for the later episodes to shine. I recommend watching the english dub or really locking in when reading the subtitles. Episode 4 is good, 5 is really interesting, and then episode 6 onwards is excellent and all the plot points truly start coming together. The animation, music, voice acting (chinese and english) are all stellar throughout the whole season. And the finale is absolutely fantastic. Worth the watch and the investment as the whole series is confirmed to be getting adapted. There's also some mini episodes released with each episode. They're available on crunchyroll or look them up on YouTube by searching for the channel "Merlin Sparrow". The Chibi videos are slice of life moments that didn't make the cut and are really cute. The other one, Old Neil's Mysticism Class, go more in-depth into the power system and some amount of world building. Watching them will help bring it all together. For now based on my own thoughts and that of my friends, I'll go with a solid 8.5/10. Definitely worth a watch. For people familiar with the game "Bloodborne", you might feel at home here as well. That's it, enjoy the ride!
When I first saw images for this show at AnimeNYC, I was a little skeptical. But I actually took the time to watch it and was incredibly surprised with how much I enjoyed the non-sexual plotline. Between Hinata learning to express his feelings for Mariabell, Mariabell learning to adapt and thrive in the world around her, and the lore of dark elves being discriminated against and Hinata saving her life. I totally get her being clingy around him. Episodes being 11 minutes long rather than the standard 22 makes it incredibly easy to binge. The pacing is just fast enough to keep your attention yetstill gives scenes enough time to breathe. Some pick up from where the previous leaves off, but for the most part they're episodic adventures which further the overall plot. If you're a fan of ecchi anime and like seeing anime girls naked, you will not be disappointed. Each episode has at least a few clear nipple shots, mostly Mariabell's, but the other girls get in on the fun too. There are some actual hentaiesque scenes, as to be expected, but for the most part it doesn't take away from the brilliant writing and slice of life adventures.
This anime is both beautiful and complex, reaching its true potential only when the viewer manages to connect the story to personal experiences. The plot isn’t exactly predictable, but even in moments where you can sense what’s coming, it still delivers a strong emotional impact. The art style fits perfectly with the atmosphere, polished, expressive, and carefully crafted to highlight both the intensity of action and the quiet, emotional moments. Characters feel well-rounded: they have strengths and flaws that make them believable, and their reactions to events feel natural rather than forced. Because of this, I believe many viewers will find something to relate to here. Somemight be drawn to the emotional depth, while others may appreciate the worldbuilding or the striking visuals. It’s a series that invites you to look deeper. This is a work that begs to be animated, its beauty is completely lost in a black-and-white manga, and it’s a shame that Orange is still on the fence about continuing it as this story clearly has the potential to grow even further. begs for further development and more room to expand this rich universe full of possibilities.
Plot moves way too fast in the first few episodes and then slows down to a snails pace starting half-way through the series. Sometimes, characters do things for no apparent reason. In fact, I would argue there is no real plot. The male MC gives apathetic vibes, kinda like the MC from Classroom of the Elite, but then sometimes he gets emotional and it becomes hard to piece him together as a real person. The female MC behaves irrationally from time to time, and there are major plot holes too (for instance, the parents didn't know their children were dating at one point, and tofurther make this story less believable the female MC looks completely different between middle school and high school). That being said, this is an okay show if you are looking to pass some time. Characters aren't completely unbearable, and it's somewhat enjoyable.
